source link Almost every trip I make back home, I will have these two dishes packed and ready to be transported back to KL for my rainy and lazy night dinners. Pop them in the pan and heat them up and I’ll have my dinner like I’m back at home.

Mom cooked extra for The Lord’s Covenant Church fellowship service tomorrow. She always feels glad when she brings happiness to others through her food and I’m sure the TLCC family tomorrow will feel the same too!

The best part about waking up early for a run in the Lake Gardens is the fresh air, cool breeze, gorgeous misty scenery of the hills, trees, lakes and watching different people coming together to this beautiful place to get a good work out in various ways…tai chi, jogging, cycling, fishing even!

After a 30 min run, I popped by to the tennis court and joined in for a few strokes with some random teenage boys. Only in Taiping-lah that people are down to earth and friendly.

After a good work out, I must pamper my tummy of course. 1 pack of Kakak Restaurant’s kueh teow right up! I grew up with this hence, some others might find it rather normal but its one of the best kuehteow soups to me. Especially after adding in their home made spicy sambal. Syok!

Mom also bought some fresh roast pork from the famous local butcher (stall is located opposite the hawker centre). Frankly I much prefer roast pork cooked and served like this than the prim and proper, nicely arranged  ones in restaurants. The pork was tender, salty, and tho’ a little too fat for me, my dad thoroughly enjoyed them much. Artery clogging!
