One of the best coffee beans I had was not from Klang Valley, but all the way from Jakarta! From this famous roaster Common Grounds!
Each pack of beans, distinct in its aroma!
The great thing is that their medium roasted beans are really nicely done! You can tell from the colour of its beans and the whiff of splendid aroma bursting through as you open the pack, specific as whatever was written..floral, caramel, sweetness etc. You name it, you smell it. Amazing!
Nothing beats Paul & Paulina (Seoul) and Tiong Bahru Bakery (Singapore), but here emerges another “Paul” from Jakarta, a branch of a French bakery that opened in 1889, that can contend up to my all-time favourite two.
Not too sweet, and yummylicious with the crunchy almonds and outer layer. Purrrrrfect with Common Ground’s hand filtered coffee in the morning.
The lemon raspberry tart didn’t disappoint either. Filled with zesty, tingy, citrusy flavour at first, then neutralised by the sweetness of the raspberries. Yuuuuuummmmmmmm! That’s the way to go with a nicely brewed cuppa. Teeheehee.
