Waffled in between chicken patty yummyness!@Velocity .Coffee. Bicycle Cafe, Ampang

This new found retreat after stressful visits at the nearby hospital proved to be really useful!

Hidden within the compound of a large building hosting a car shop and gym, is a pro-bike shop/cafe. The vibes that I get from this cafe is a chill out/catchup place for bike enthusiasts over a lovely meal, perhaps after an adventurous ride convoy.

I actually liked the ambience even though I am no pro biker. I think the owners did a good job in ensuring the balance wasn’t tipped over too much until non-bikers feel uncomfortable eating here.

The food quality in my opinion was also pretty good! For a change, I decided to have my waffles served without ice cream, maple syrup or butter. Instead, these butter crunchy goodies were sandwiched with a tenderlicious chicken patty with vegs and mustard.

I appreciated their efforts in ensuring good quality food was served. At least for my waffles, I felt the sincerity of the chef from my meal. The waffles were crunchy, the patty was tender, yet filled with flavours, and the vegs were fresh too. At least the mustard wasn’t directly from the tube itself from its texture and colour, showed that the chef made his/her own dressings also.

And another key factor was also the pleasant approach of all their staffs. Greeted us with smiles from the moment we entered, until we left. I think this is essential in every F&B place.

The meal cost RM 20 plus, which was alright for me for such ambience and quality. I couldn’t finish all either way and took the second half of the piece home for dinner. Whee! Dinner meal covered!

Definitely wanna pay this place a visit again when I’m nearby here some time soon in the future!

Foodie exploring my way through@The Commune Social, Shanghai

image

After walking out of Cambio, we took a good 15-minute stroll or so, probably a couple o’ blocks up to The Commune Social, one of the top hangout restaurant/bars in town. Just in time! As the only open at 6pm onwards.

The dimly lited romantic feel place was already packed when we arrived. The layout of the place was narrow but elongated, with the bar and restaurant stretched all the way in.

We sat very deep in, at the end of the restaurant, by the kitchen, to watch the chef-perts do their thing. It was quite cool to see ’em cooking, in a setting much like Hell’s kitchen. The head chef really did screw one of the cooks when the dish presented was under average.

Cheers! To an Estrella beer. One of the higher end Spanish beers, served in a glass!

image

The cheese baked appetizer, with sun dried tomato slices, was…really SMALL portion. Haha. When the dish arrived, only did I realize that my tummy ain’t gonna be full from this meal!

image

It wasn’t bad! Did open up our taste buds from the combustion flavours of cheese and egg and tomatoes. Just, very, very small portion..phew.

image

The Commune Social burgers apparently is a must-have. The chef stationed right in front of us was where these golden buttery tender juicy babies were prepared. Gotta say, the beef patty was OOOMMPPPHHHHH! BUT..POPPED. Gone in an instant. Small portion. Phew.

These guys are rather sentimental in nature. They gave out little note books where you could pen down anything you could think of during your dining experience here.

I, too, felt sentimental and marked my foothold here too! So, checked! Miss foodieventura was here!

And one hour later……..

Local China bottle of beer, and a plate of fried chicken ordered via room service. Supper time! Now this is what we call, a real meal! *burps*
