Bday treat@Komugi Cafe, Pavillion

image

I owed my girlfriend a birthday cake and decided to cakeventure in Komugi. The birthday girl was in a cheesey mode and she chose the strawberry cheesecake. RM 11.

The strawberries were quite sweet and they went really well with the inches thickened, slightly curdled,Β  cream cheese layer in the middle. Unlike the usual cheesecakes, usually frozen chilled, or lightly baked, this cheesecake was rather unique, it was in between both worlds. Thumbs up.

The only down side of the cake was the bottom biscuit layer. They did not stick welp to the cheese layer, and abit too hard.

Sadly, the cafe does not serve still water. You have no choice but to purchase this RM3.50 bottle of Komugi oxygenated water (bottle was really tiny. Max 2 small cups serving).

Uncool to not serve plain water for free! Especially in a place that serves sweet stuffs.

We were expecting that the water would be gassed like Perrier, but we were wrong. The water did taste slightly lighter than the normal hard, mineral like water we usually drink, but we did not feel our energy rejuvenated or boosted up as claimed haha.

The black coffee,Β  RM 6.90, was a little burnt. But bearable to drink, nothing to shout about. The other drinks were at least 10 bucks over…

Hhhmmmmm… this time around… I drew no conclusion as to how I felt at the end of my meal here. Perhaps it fits me better as a take away kinda place.

Coffee stop@Artisan Coffee, Seksyen 13 PJ

image

My first coffee break at Artisan. This cafe is rather new and they are quite creative with the decor. The entire place has a real artsy chic feel, cozy corner for coffee lovers.

image

The workstation where coffee cups are made. Strong smell of coffee aroma surrounded the entire cafe. The lovely crunchy sound of grinding the beans. Lovely!

A coffee brew bar. A caffeine option for coffee drunkards.

My americano was RM5. A really good choice. The coffee wasn’t too diluted and the taste was slightly buttery, caffeine kick was kau. Perfect on its own without adding milk or sugar.

Chocolate cake, RM 10, and carrot cake, RM 6. Looked shining, glistening and delicious..unfortunately not for both. The cakes were hard and crumbly, and not much taste. Disappointing.

Probably best reserve this place purely just for coffee. πŸ™‚ americano only!
