The past weeks had been crazy hectic beyond measure and I haven’t had proper meals for many days. Ms Foodieventura down time.
I had to work over the weekend. I got up early and headed out for a nice brunch, a little booster reward to lift up the mood.
Sushiya is located at the ground floor of Plaza Mont Kiara, just within the courtyard area opposite McDonalds.
The restaurant is mainly run by Japanese which does give a more authentic feel. The place was very clean and they played jazz music. It did lift up my sombre mood and I was up for some food jappie foodie!
The sashimi platter was the size of 2 pax portion. Cost a whopping RM100++. @_@ the fish slices were somewhat fresh, decent thickness slices. The lemon slices were also really fresh to the extent the salmon sashimis absorbed in a little of the citrusy juice. All were alright, except the octopus sashimis…just way too hard. I’m guessing it could have been around for a couple of days already.
The kaisan barachirashi bowl cost RM30++. When cold meets hot. Cold cuts of fish chunks, raw prawn slices and bubbly salmon roes meet steamy hot fattened white pearly japanese rice. Pretty hearty, fresh and healthy. But I had a bigger WOW moment of a similar dish such as this from Oukatsu.
The soft shelled crab and unagi roll cost RM23++ was my favourite among the 3 dishes today. They freshly deep fried the crab so as you bit in, you would get this loud crunching sound wit slight frying oil oozing out, before tasting the sweet crab meat. The unagi was nicely marinated and also tasted a little warm, as if they were freshly grilled too.
I’d prolly give this place a second try some time soon to try out the sushis. Haha. The restaurant is called SUSHIYA, and I did not order any sushis today. Pleasant experiene and certainly looking forward to returning soon!
