Koreans undeniable love vegs. This table had more vegs than I ever saw on a typical chinese dinner table. Be it fermented or fresh, they were yummylicious!
The “Chap Chae” or I usually refer it as Korean version of “tang hoon” also contained a lot of vegs. Heallthier version of our usual tang hoons, as it a lot less oily.
Home made kimchi! Fuhseh! Slightly spicier versions..fitting to my liking!
Their rice are also different, slighly glutinous and brownish in colour. Each pellet nicely form, now that’s good rice! They weren’t sweet too…perfect for the flavourful dishes that night.
Vegs, move aside. Here comes the star dishes! Korean pork belly slices fried to tender perfection. Well marinated and full of flavours. Even the fatty bits just melt in your mouth.
Enjoying two servings of delicious home cooked Korean food…with a battery operated bunny as my candlelight dinner partner.
All great things must end with a sweet finish 🙂 Only from this dinner that I’ve learnt Koreans love fruit punch too! And what surprised me more is how much they adore Fanta. This fruit punch has chopped pineapples, watermelons, preserved cherries and nata de coco mixed with Sprite and Orange Fanta. Slurps! Things like these make you feel like a kid again:)
It was a great night of good food and lovely company. Looking forward for the next Korean foodie galore!
